Michelle was raised in the Allegheny Mountains of Northern Appalachia. She had a spring-fed pond out her bedroom window and thousands of acres of forest land as her playground. Her love of all things nature was fostered by her flora and fauna friends and it has now come full circle as she re-wylds her childhood spirit at Wyldhaven Homestead. She has since spent more than half her life in North Carolina. She has been a part of the NC Wildlife Federation family since 2001 and has proudly served them in many roles including, Habitat Steward, Board Member, Fundraiser, and volunteer. In addition, she is a certified Master Composter and she is currently enrolled in the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine. Michelle is also the owner of Pollinator Properties and enjoys teaching all of her clients about the value of their land

Her favorite forest friends are Black Cohosh, Ginseng, and all the colorful insects that pollinate the plants.
